Exploring PPC Opportunities Beyond Your Website

It's no secret that more and more people are ditching their PCs for laptops, tablets, and smart phones.  But how can you as an advertiser or publisher take advantage of this change?  Many advertisers and publishers are beginning to realize this change in technology and are adjusting accordingly.

Just to give you a better idea using some facts, in 2011, Apple recorded that they sold 40.7 million iPads and these numbers are only expected to increase in 2012.  Tablets were introduced to the market approximately two years ago and analysts are expecting 108 million to sell by the end of 2012.

Google is amongst one of the first advertisers who introduced tablets as part of their device targeting in 2011. This trend is not going to be going away anytime soon.  Check out these stats:

  • 49.7% of US mobile subscribers now own smartphones (Nielson, February, 2012).
  • There ahve been 4 million iPads sold in the United States.
  • 12% of the US population owned a tablet at the end of 2011, and that number is expected to be 23% by the end of 2012.
  • About 60% of tablet users are male and 40% are female.
  • People use tablets most often for:  (1) Reading & Writing Emails, (2) Entertainment, (3) Checking the Weather, (4) Checking the News.
Mobility is a growing trend and should not be ignored.  Stay tuned for further strategies on how you can utilize mobile advertising for your business.
